Everyone in India got super excited when Sony finally revealed that the much-awaited PlayStation 5 (PS5) was finally going to launch in India on February 2 with pre-orders starting just ahead of that. However, there’s some bad news.

The PS5 Digital Edition is not going to be available in time for February 2 and the Dual Sense charging station, HD camera and the PS Headset will not be available either. This news comes from an IGN India report and a Twitter account that has been tracking PS5’s India launch details. The report adds that sources in retail have confirmed that this information is true.

On reaching out to Sony regarding why the PS5 Digital Edition and these accessories will be “skipping” India for now, the company said - “PS5 Digital Edition and select peripherals (Dual Sense charging station, HD camera and PS headset) will not be available in the launch window. Please monitor our official channels for updates on release dates.”

This basically means that the DualSense controller and Media Remote will be available in India along with the PS5 with a disc drive. The Digital Edition will probably be launched at a later date, and perhaps the accessories too - but we have no information regarding that.

The report adds that game stores in India have finally gotten allocation of the PS5 though Sony is yet to confirm what the pre-order guidelines should be. This is a stark contrast to other markets where Sony outlined how exactly the pre-orders would go to avoid overcrowding in stores.
